Lesson Title: Self-portrait Mural
Subject: Art
Activities and lesson notes:
1. Introductions--Teacher and background in art
Students and their favorite way to express creatively
2. Brainstorm--Art, where do we find it? US? India?
3. Using pencils, create outline of students on mural.
4. Ask students to use markers to draw on clothes, jewelry, face, etc--to tell the story of who they are, what they like, and so on.
5. In closing minutes of class, discuss what they created, and ask them to place a star on the area of India where they have family.

Prep required: create teacher self portrait for example and outline India on roll
