Entries for a SILC sponsored event, Vibha Kalakaar, " a unique competition for children and adults - an opportunity to give wings to your creativity, express yourselves and help a child in need," are being accepted until March 15. One category for participation is youth paintings centered around the future or my dream. In our art class today we will paint these things in order to unleash our imaginations and benefit a child in India.

Pottery-making is an important and ancient art still found today in virtually every corner of India.

We'll try our hand at this venerable art in class by making a basic coil pot, and perhaps incising a traditional design or two.
